I love the crispy beef tacos with the white cheese and a big slice of tomato they put it in everyone. Love, love the salsa and I apply it liberally to everything.
I'm from the Valley and love both real Mexican food and Tex-Mex. This place is the bomb! It's small, full of locals, and everything I tried was awesome. The salsa tasted like it was just made in a molcajete , the mole was magnificent, and everything was delicious. If I didn't live a days drive away I'd eat here every week.
Again it's a nice mental break and rest stop along the way however we've always the wait staff could be nicer and seem more eager to get your business. I try to think of it as part of it charm. I attribute it to maybe having to live out in Van Horn - the Penance that one has to pay for having a profitable restaurant.
Omg! Absolutely the worst service I have ever had at any restaurant ever! I waited to be served for over an hour while people sat at their table and got served immediately. The only reason we waited as long as we did is because our daughter really wanted Mexican
Wow...this place needs a total makeover. Or atleast a good cleaning. It looked like a horders house. We like quirky but this was not that. Food (#3 & fish fillet) was decent but nothing to pull off the highway for. The guy that was our server acted like he couldn't be bothered. Madden is the claim to fame here (purely by accident) from 89 but it's not working in 2017.
Going up & down main street, Wendy's Subway no, no desired a seat down & Enjoy a meal. This is definitely the place to stop.
Chuy's - a nice little find, and now a target stop along the way on the long drive from Dallas to El Paso. So fun John Madden even made it to destination. And they have a table for him in his honor.
