- it was inexpensive
The staff was amazing, very helpful & friendly. Rooms were clean, fresh smelling. And the continental breakfast was enjoyable and convenient. I recommend this place to anyone needing a room. Pet friendly and non-smoking is always a plus with me
- the floors near the bed were dirty with mud or brown stuff
Website says hot breakfast. Don't count on it, unless you consider toast as hot breakfast. Mold in my shower. But worst of all is when I called in for reservation the front desk person quoted me a price, not a bad price for the area. When we checked in I told the same front desk person my father, who was traveling with me, was retired military and their website said they give a discount to military. She replied with since i reserved 3 rooms she gave me the best price she could give me. I asked does that include the military discount and again she said "I gave you the best price I can give you". When I go to check out this morning the bill was the same rate she quoted me over the phone before I told her I needed 3 rooms. I brought the military discount up with the front desk lady this morning and she was no help either. I'm sure most Red Roof Inns may honor military but this one doesn't. We will not be staying here again.
You get what you pay for.
- the ceilings had terrible water damage all over the facilities. Our room was okay, but you have to be careful when you're walking around unless you want water to drip on you
- there is no security on the outside doors. Anyone can enter in without a room key. The actual rooms have security, but I didn't feel comfortable with the hallways being open at all hours.
- when we asked for new sheets, the man at the front desk pulled out a set from under the desk as if it was a common occurrence.
The Red Roof was what you would call quaint, not resembling a chain. The room had a strange odor. The air conditioner seemed regulated, so the room was warm. Mattress was flat and board-like. Also had to fight off a couple of bugs in the wee hours of the morning. Never again. Red Roof is off my list.
- we got a second floor corner room, so that was okay
- the bathrooms were kind of clean, but the caulking in the bathtub was dirty
- the sheets on the beds were not changed. There were crumbs/debris of some sort on the first bed, and a weird stain on the second bed. The sheets did not look clean at all.
Cons:
Pros:
I would avoid this place if I were you.
While driving from Dallas to El Paso I just didn't have the energy for the next 2 1/2 hours so I stopped here. Pleasant front desk. Room was clean. Close to local eateries and several fast food places. Also, supply their own breakfast items. Thanks.
- check-in was extremely slow, because apparently the systems were slow
- breakfast is a joke, just like the other reviews say
